BLACK TIDE Checks In From Home

April 23, 2008

Miami's BLACK TIDE has issued the following update:

"We just got back home from a very successful headlining tour in the U.K. with GLAMOUR OF THE KILL supporting us, and they were fucking awesome! They're really cool guys and you should all check them out. Before we went to the U.K. we spent a month out on tour with ALL THAT REMAINS and we had a great time with them. We did a small headlining run right after our album came out and all of you that came out to shows were fucking awesome and we had an amazing time playing for you.

"Right now our plans are to take about three weeks off from touring, so that we can rest just a little bit before we go out and tour for tour for the remainder of the year. We will be heading back overseas for the entire month of June and we will be playing festivals all over Europe, and we are totally stoked to get to play in new countries. When we come back from Europe we will have about three days off and then we will be going out on the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour with SLIPKNOT, DISTURBED, MASTODON, DRAGONFORCE, UNDEROATH, MACHINE HEAD, and about 11 other great fucking bands. We are so excited to be a part of this summer tour and we can't even wait to get out there.

"We want to give a huge thank you to everybody that picked up our album when it released and those of you that are still buying them now. We would also like to thank everyone that has come out tour our shows and supported us by buying shirts, and brining us gifts (like the cookies in Texas). We will be seeing all of you this summer and we know that we're gonna have a blast on these upcoming tours."

Yahoo! Music recently uploaded BLACK TIDE's exclusive performance of "Shockwave". Watch the footage below.

BLACK TIDE sold 11,400 copies of its debut album, "Light from Above", in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 73 on The Billboard 200 chart.

After months of anticipation, BLACK TIDE has finally unveiled the video for its blazing single "Shockwave". The Travis Kopach-directed (BUCKCHERRY, PANIC! AT THE DISCO) clip finds the group turning a non-descript suburban home into a frenzy of moshing fans and skateboarders pulling tricks on a half-pipe! The motocross bad boys of the Metal Mulisha also make an appearance making this video a throwback to the glory days of '80s metal!

"Light from Above" was released on March 18 via Interscope Records. The CD was recorded with producer Johnny K, who has previously worked with DISTURBED, MACHINE HEAD and SOIL, among others.
